Odd vs Even Center

Odd footprint (like 31)

Has one exact center block. Perfect symmetry around center.

Even footprint (like 32)

Center is between middle blocks. Mark the shared center line or 2×2 area before mirroring.

Common diameters

Even footprints center between blocks; odd footprints use one center block. Mixed oval footprints use a center line on only one axis.

Preset workflow

  1. Confirm the preset size in the input panel.
  2. Check the center guide and mode before collecting materials.
  3. Use the preset as-is or adjust size, thickness, shell, or cap settings.
  4. Export the final blueprint only after the preview matches the intended build.

Preset outputs

Preset notes

  • Presets are starting points, not locked templates.
  • Changing any setting changes the export payload and share URL.
  • Use related presets when the first size is too small or too large.

FAQ

Can I edit a preset?

Yes. The preset only sets the initial values; all controls remain editable.

Does the example output update if I change the tool?

The below-page example describes the preset default; the live tool output updates immediately in the workspace.

Should I canonicalize a preset to the main tool?

No. A preset has its own canonical URL when it serves a specific size task.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing up diameter and radius before copying the row list.
  • Starting an even footprint from one block instead of marking the center line or 2×2 center area.
  • Changing outline, filled, hollow, or solid mode after collecting materials without rechecking block count.
  • Forgetting that spheres and domes should be built one layer at a time.
